a bit about me

The first story I ever wrote was aged 6 - it was a Tarantino-esque eight part thriller where The Three Bears met Frozone from The Incredibles at the beach. Baby Bear was recruited (some may say kidnapped) by Frozone to help him defeat The Bad Guys. They went swimming, rode on the bus, and eventually journeyed to Hogwarts where Harry, Ron, and Hermione joined the fray. There was an epic battle where the fairytale-fever-dream-team emerged victorious; they then all went for ice cream before returning Baby Bear back to his parents, who didn’t seem to care that their child had been abducted on Hastings Pier and forced to fight in a magical war.

I think my writing career peaked very early on because I don’t really know how I’m supposed to top that. But I’ll give it a go.

Since then, I studied for a BA (Hons) in English Literature with Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, graduating with a 2:1, a passion for creativity, and a drive to keep writing. I then went on to do a Fundraising Strategy and Marketing internship with Break, an East Anglian children’s charity, and was offered a position at the end as their in-house Copywriter (I also co-ordinated a database upgrade but that’s a lot less exciting).

I write about love in lots of forms, relationships and their ups and downs, queerness, mythology, family, politics, and all things human. I have an affinity for the ridiculous, a respect for the tragic, and a constant place for humour in all I write.
